Professional experience in North America and Europe
I have over thirty years of experience in the fileds of internal medicine and nephrology including nephrology training at Henry Ford Hospital (1995-1997) and serving as medical director in two private dialysis centers (1998-2001) and a university-affiliated dialysis unit (2007-2010). I also directed transplantation nephrology in two programs at LSU Shreveport (2001-2005) and Debrcen, Hungary (2013-2016).
I taught at several American and Hungarian academic centers focusing on student, resident and fellow education, served as associate clinical director at a nephrology journal gaining experience in both writing and peer reviewing scientific papers

Humanistic medical practice in different cultural environments
A substantial part of my medical experience involved rural patients from farmers in Oklahoma to residents of other American and Hungarian regions including Székesfehérvár, New York area, Michigan, West Virginia, Louisiana, Ohio, Mississippi, Debrecen, Kistelek and Salgótarján

Erroneous beliefs regarding kidney function
Widespread MisconceptionsBeginning in the mid nineties, I noticed that several erroneous beliefs are present in both the medical circles and the general population regarding kidney function.
Ever since, I have been trying to clarify these in educational videos, scientific papers and a wide range of slide presentations. If you agree with even a single statement below, you should consider reading or watching the scientific and educational materials available at this website:
- Kidney function can be precisely determined by lab findings only.
- The higher the estimated kidney function is, the better it is for your general health.
- Kidney function can be improved by drinking a lot of fluid.
- The more urine you make, the better your kidney function will be.
- The diagnosis of kidney disease can be made solely by lab data.
- Kidney diet can be described by numbers regarding quantity of caloric intake.
- The status and prognosis of kidney patients including dialysis patients can be fully characterized by just lab results.

My medical experience gave me inspiration to write books
Thirty years of medical practice and scientific work have raised questions of philosophical relevance for me, highlighting how mathematics, biostatistics, and the scientific method shape medicine. For the health-conscious reader, or anyone inclined toward deeper analysis of health and the human condition, these books may offer a perspective unavailable elsewhere.
A Hungarian Physician in the U.S. — an autobiographical account of my experience in America.
The Book of Life — essays on the philosophy of science.
In these works, I present novel analyses and new perspectives on mathematics, biostatistics, and science, drawing thought-provoking conclusions about their role in nephrology and medicine in general. Readers seeking a genuinely new approach may find these writings a distinctive intellectual experience.

Professional contentOnline consultation
ContactIf you wish to understand more on how to interpret lab data and how these influence medical decision making, you may want to consider an online consultation. During the consultation, we may go over what lab results generally mean and how to read them correctly. We may also go over dietary and lifestyle issues. This consultation is of general educational nature and does not obviate the need for actual medical follow up.
